About the PI
My formal training is in Earth sciences and biology, specifically evolution and population genetics. I received by PhD from UCLA in 2015 and have worked in coastal marine and terrestrial systems to understand how Earth processes shape the diversification of life broadly. I like data-rich, complex problems that require creative approaches and integrative statistics. Species evolve not in a vacuum but as part of Earth’s ever-changeable landscape and there is nothing more beautiful than that. My goal is to uncover, quantify, and formalize that relationship as much as possible.
